Backyard buck

Unread postby muddy » Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:30 am

I glanced in the back yard and saw a buck. Took off out the door barefoot , in shorts / t-shirt and hauled a 100 yard dash and caught him just as he tried crossing the rec trail. Not a slob but he was pretty damn nice.

With your conditioning, I am a little disappointed! You couldve gotten much more close if not caught him!

Awesome buck!

Maybe that isn’t a Slob in Iowa, but where I’m from that’s a huge beast

I had this dude in my yard at like 15 yards out the window as I was getting ready to go hunt for the day on Thursday.

I didn’t chase him though. I just took a pic of the southern end of the north-bound buck from another window.

wow, thats trophy class from where I come from. Cant make out the pic but on his left beam (or right beam facing us), is that some sort of horizontal drop tine or sticker coming out? or maybe its just the brush behind it?

Wanna bet. I saw a barely legal spiker. Probably the only one in the state. He was probably a nub buck a few months ago.
