Just spotted a bedded deer at 60 yards. Sneaking through the marsh. Got a cross wind. Trying to decide if I should man up and wait her out or beast up and crawl through shin deep water.

As I wrote this, I’ve decided to tuck in and wait as she (I think it’s a big doe) might have a buck with her. Going to be a long stand.

Snuck into 40 yards. Everything was perfect.
She got up and I realized that this “big headed deer” was a fawn. Had her broadside at 20 twice. She eventually spotted me, stomped once and trotted off.

Red x is where I spotted her from. Blue is where I was able to sneak to. About 40 yards away.

On to the next one!

In a double set with the wife. We both have doe tags and she has a buck tag. Hoping to start stacking here shortly. Feel like September 6th not November 6th
