Long night ahead
What do you guys think? I shot him at 130 this afternoon. I initially thought liver. But when i show everyone the aarow they say single lung. Was gonna head out at 930 which is 8 hours. Thoughts?

Re: Long night ahead
Was it broadside, quartering away or towards? If quartering away could have hit liver and offside lung and get lighter blood on the arrow. Pass through I assume?

2 years ago i hit one in the shoulder. Now to far back. Its obviously not guts because of the aarow. So to me its gotta be 1 lung or liver? Am i wrong?

Hard for me to say without knowing the angle he was standing and stand height and all that. I’m not good at judging just blood on the arrow. Maybe start tracking and see what the blood looks like at the site of impact and then the first 40-50 yards or so if it looks good and go from there.

Re: Long night ahead
Weird I thought I posted a response but it didn't go through.
It looks like a lethal hit either way. It's hard to tell from the picture for sure but it doesn't look like pure, dark liver blood to me. I like purebowhunting's theory that you might've hit both. But again, looks lethal either way.
Go see if there is bubbles in the blood. If so, get on it. If not then that's a personal decision. I'd be on the track with an arrow looking like that, but I'm a bit of a reckless personality.

Re: Long night ahead
Broadside 15 yards about 18ft up......so pissed at myself. Its like make a fing good shot at 15 yards ben!!! Urgh!! Feel terrible for the animal either way. Could of ended his life in 15 seconds with a good shot but instead i choke and make him suffer

Too hard to tell from that pic. At this point I'd wait for sunlight to track.

Re: Long night ahead
Thats a really tough one to guess
The arrow looks like dried dark blood / liver
What did the blood at impact or blood trail look like?

Re: Long night ahead
I personally think it definitely looks like a lung shot. Too hard to say whether double or not. This was my arrow from a couple weeks ago from a double lunger for reference.
