Roller coaster of a day so far. The buck that I missed Friday was at 22 yards broadside at 415 today. As I was drawing he busted for what seemed like no reason, he was facing away from me. About a minute later I hear a couple squirrel hunters come walking into the woodlot. Headed a couple miles over to another spot with a primary scrape area halfway close to the road, set up on it now. Feelin beasty!

hunting_dad wrote:Wow headgear you put a lot of effort going after him and sounds like he’s one tough deer. Hope you can get back on him and finish the deal or at least get some closure on what happens with him. And yea it does suck when this stuff happens but sounds like you got the right attitude. Good luck to you!

Thanks but it had snows the day before so I was more following than tracking, covering a lot of ground fast, would probably still be out there if it wasn't for the snow. Setup on what I thought could have been an area we went to tonight but nada, but a couple of other bigger tracks in this spot so just going to keep after them, able to hunt ever evening this week so going to take advantage.

Very excited to be able to add to this post this year. I had not seen anything all year thus far and then on Sunday 10/25/20, this

I was getting frustrated with not seeing anything but something Dan and other members on here have said stuck in my head, "you won't always see deer where you hunt for big bucks, but when you do it's usually a good one."

Nice buck Double H!

I've been close to a couple of decent bucks lately. One 7 point and one 8. I'm going to make a play on the 8 after work today. He seems to be sticking pretty close to a doe group. I'm going to be setup on the ground taking advantage of the falling thermals.
