Gave it another go this morning. I’ve hunted the same 300 acre piece of public all week and today was the only time I didn’t have it to myself. 2 trucks were there when I arrived and I must say. If window decals are based on skill level then these guys are top notch!

I chose a spot where the main access trail makes a big dogleg and makes a pinch against the road. Although the pinch is still close to 100 yards wide so it’s not ideal. But it showed good use.

Between 10 and 10:40 I saw a total of 3 doe’s and 2 fawns. All passed by further than I care to shoot. I set up on a side hill close to access trail thinking any deer would wanna use the thermal advantage. Not the case. Feel if I had one more day I could probably give myself a good chance of getting one in range. But nope, back to work for me. Just the way it goes. Good luck to everyone else.

Its hotter than the devil here today, but I'm running out of time to be able to hunt after work before daylight savings, so I'm gonna go. Honestly might night even take my stand. Thinking about just still hunting and looking for sign.

Sounds like a lot of guys are into some good spots and things are heating up! I’ve got a wind I’ve been waiting all season for but it’s accompanied by a lot of rain so I’m gonna pass on the setup for now. This is the first yr I’ve got a handful of trail cams, so I’m gonna use this rain and go pop em up deep back in the swamp around some hardwood islands that have intrigued me. Probably let them soak all season unless I get a wild hair and hunt back there before hand. Taking my bow with me just in case !!

Good luck out there ladies and gents

Took advantage of a rain day to scout a local marsh. Pretty disappointed with the amount of sign. Even got my picture taken :D . Slipping in to the same tree I hunted last night. Hanging out about 80 yards away waiting for the wind to come around

Dating the fat chick tonight. 250 yards from the road, 150 from a railroad track with trains going by every hour or two. Got in the only tree that would work.

It’s hot and I didn’t have time to go where I wanted, but it’s still a good spot. Got big fresh tracks here and of course swirling winds. Wish I would’ve brought a card reader as the tracks go right by a camera I put out before the rain a few days ago.

Got eyes on a good one right now. Stood up out of his bed at 60 yards.

Back on a property I didn't think I would get to hunt again after it was removed from the public access program. Lo and behold it's back on the map as of today. I was going to still hunt and scout since I haven't been able to access this place this fall, but I came across a group of beds with more hair in them than I have ever seen. The area is torn to shreds. Set up behind a deadfall with a just off wind. 125 yards from the road. Feelin beasty.

He made it 55 yards. Not a giant but I’m stoked.
