Decided to go to this small private spot I have this morning to score on a doe. I saw a big ole grandpappy of a buck  I bumped him in the dark, then later got pegged in my tree by him. And to put the cherry on top, while climbing down got busted by a handful of doe’s. Just textbook of everything you don’t wanna do. And to think all this transpired on a so called slam dunk meat hunt. Go figure!

Looks like you made a great shot on her. Good luck with the buck

Thanks Jackson!

It was a double lung shot. She made it about 70 yards. I had a small 6’x6’ clearing which I had picked out prior to climbing the tree.

It was crazy because she had trotted the whole way in and stopped right in that clearing, facing right at me. Had to hold draw for about a minute, which I found out that I need to practice more of! She finally quartered away and I was able to hold steady enough to release the arrow.

in the tree.
I passed 4 fresh scrapes looks to be made this morning or last night. I'm setup at the top of a deep cut near pines. About 100 yards from bedding. Pretty sure based on the scrape line bucks are in that bedding area right now.

Hope they get this far in daylight.

I wouldn't want to be a deer in his area.

This happens every year since I’ve been on the Beast.
