Western WI white oaks

Unread postby WIpubhunter 87 » Tue Sep 15, 2020 9:48 am

Anybody else in western wisconsin having a hard time finding white oaks that are dropping. I’ve hunted in three different counties now and have yet to find a white oak that is dropping. What’s everyone else finding?

SE WI. All of the areas that should have some have none. I hunted around white oaks the last three days and not one acorn seen on the ground or even sign deer have already eaten them. Hickory nuts are everywhere though.

Yeah it’s the same for me too, all hickory nuts and red oak acorns. Definitely threw a wrench in my early season plans

Not much for white oaks this year in SW WI. Have found a few that were dropping but very limited. Apple crop has been ok this year but not anything like last year.

Dunn County

The reds on my land have dropped, but none of the whites that I've seen
