Feels good to be getting the first sit under way!

Could've shot this one my first time in this spot 2 years ago, hopefully he still calls this swamp home.

2 different does came through, each with a single fawn.

6 deer seen tonight, one hurried through and didn't give me a clear look at it, ended the night with a doe at the bottom of my tree.
She spooked when I turned back to check if she moved after I was looking to see if anything else was coming.

6 mile loop tonight. Checked out a new property looking for elk. No luck there. I did see 2 muley does and a surprise whitetail doe. Cold front rolling in over night, hopefully the next few days are better.

Did I walk up on you in a tree Saturday evening ?
4.30-5ish?
Looks exactly like the spot I ran into another hunter turned around and left. I saw movement in tree so I circled around got on a old logging road and realized it was another hunter. So I left hunted way down that logging road past another stand and cut up the ridgeside. I saw a small 6 point and passed.

Was setup on a transition edge between a small lake ,field of corn , where it met oaks by a logging road and old fence line with 2 strands of barwire you needed to cross to get in stand?

Dove hunter was shooting alot by lake on property over across the road? Kentucky River Wma?

Sounds like that's a long way from southeast nebraska. I've yet to see anyone else hunting.

Went deer hunting tonight, and it was insane! 200 yards from the truck and a good 1.5 miles from where I planned to hunt, I busted 4 or 5 deer, one was a 120-130ish whitetail.

500 yards later I saw three more bucks. The two little ones looked at me 50 yards away, the 140-150 class 10pt did not stick around for a second look. GREAT buck.

1/2 hour later, I had a 110-120ish 8pt in full velvet at 85-90 yards. I made a loop to try and cut him off, but his straight line was faster than my loop, and I never caught up. I was standing there checking the map for my next move when two bucks came charging out of a pothole swamp behind me. They went by about 50 yards and 25mph

I started working towards the original destination when I spotted a group of deer about 250 yards out. I pulled up the binos and OMG, 6x5 TANK of a muley. I closed the distance to 95 yards, but there was a big grass swale between us. I watched him feed for 10-15 minutes hopokg he would work my way and then him and two does busted for no apparent reason. I was sitting down at this point with good back cover. I looked behind me and saw another hunter walkingin the wide open. Ahhh, the joys of public land. I have tomorrow off, so I'll be back after the big muley in the a.m.

Seaz has been texting me this morning... he’s got the big one at 81 yards!! It’s dead calm so that is complicating things.

That’s pretty much par for the course out West. It’s either so windy you can’t accurately shoot, or dead calm and you can’t stalk.
