Life with Stanley, Random Memories

Unread postby Stanley » Wed Sep 02, 2020 3:50 am

Stanley and I did not always agree on things, yet he humored me more than once even if he thought my plan was outright silly. One example that comes to mind is when I read that deer rib cages were great for attracting woodpeckers. He dutifully climbed the old ash tree in the back yard and hoisted up the rib cage from his recent kill.

It wasn't long before our neighbors started bringing us reports of the new guy living behind us. They didn't understand why he was snooping around, asking if anybody had seen me....

Apparently, this guy had not yet learned that Stan was a BBSK. Stan refused to take those ribs down even when they were picked clean! They gave him a good chuckle for months.....

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

“Those” neighbors can be soooo much fun!

I didn’t know Stan, unfortunately, but I appreciate your memories and stories.

Good stuff Jan, thanks for sharing.

It was so funny how everyone commented about Stanley's smile (or lack of) in his pics. I said many times that I could clearly see his smile.

Hope you are doing well.
