Its been hit or miss for me depending on the area of the state. In some areas, only a few trees have acorns. But I checked a ridge last weekend where it looked like almost all the trees had acorns.
I always find that acorns are like morel mushrooms. You never know when you are going to have a good year.

thanks for the update......
I wondered to what makes it a good year for acorns ? A wet spring , dry, or maybe it makes no difference.... I hope it's a good year for them, as I have a nice ridge of white oaks to hunt shortly after the season starts....

Saw trees loaded with them while we were tubbing last night.

Thats good to hear bighunt. I'm going to check a few oak flats in SW WI tomorrow and Sunday.
For the record, central WI is hit or miss this year.

In south central Wisconsin, I'm seeing a lot on burr oaks, but not much on the reds or whites.

Was camping in Montello, WI over the weekend (central WI) and the white oaks were dropping TINY acorns on our tent...not much forage value but they are there I guess.
