This hits home a little too hard. I’ve heard Don Higgins say this same thing. I had pics in 2018 of a solid 3 year old that should be big this year. Was a week or so he hung around. Had this tactic in the back of mind and gave up on it the day after my first sighting last year and went and shot a 130”er I had running around. He came 2 days later and he exploded into a 170”er. Next year I’m going all in on this tactic because he’s definitely not living on the farm I hunt. Will try my best to confirm he’s alive before then but I don’t have much to go off. Will check my cameras again after the holidays and hope he came back through like he did last year for one picture.

Congrats on the kill Joe! Heck of a buck!

Another great buck Joe! It will be interesting to see how this area plays out for late season in the future. Do you think he was in there at this time frame based on late rut activity or another reason?

Heck yeah! Don Higgins wrote an article called homecoming bucks on the topic. I think he sent it to me one time when I was asking him about it. I should dig it up.
