Do you hunt the opener?
With the bow opener in WI only 58 days away how many of you are getting anxious? I can't take it much more I plan to hunt the bow opener no matter what? How many guys on here seriously hunt the opener? Why or why not? I just like getting back in the tree and shaking the rust off. Probably won't hunt my best spots unless the wind is right and its not a million degrees but I will definitely be hitting the woods.
How about everyone else? 58 days the wait is killing me

Re: Do you hunt the opener?
I have shot a few of my biggest bucks on opening day, and a few more opening week. For mature bucks it hands down beats the rut in my opinion for a hunter who scouts and hunts hard.

Yes, we have to earn our early season buck tag, I have been lucky the last few years and have my tag within a couple hours of the opener.

Absolutely.... It can be the best day if you've done your homework right. If you have a mature buck patterned this is the best way to kill him still on a feed schedule.

Re: Do you hunt the opener?
As long as you have stayed out of your hunting area it can be the best time to catch a big buck still on his summer feeding pattern. It would take something major to keep me out of the woods opening bow weekend

I agree. I just usually am ill prepared for opener or I am out west hunting other critters. My best MN buck came in Sept.
