Shoot Through Mesh

Tell me why... Why would you want to shoot through the mesh on your pop-up? I have a pop-up with shoot through mesh, but it seems to me, shooting through it is going to leave a hole. A hole will need to be fixed, especially after a couple holes. Say you do it anyways - won't that affect the flight of your arrow?

Am I being closed-minded?

So long as you're not shooting expandables with the little "L" shaped tips on the blades you can shoot a ton of times through mesh with no affect on your arrow. I've done it a couple of times and it hasn't affected the arrow flight and I'd have to shoot a 100 more times before I needed to replace the mesh. Granted, I have a Matrix 360 blind and there is A LOT of mesh to go around!

You can replace the mesh usually be contacting the manufacturer and buying new mesh, installation could be a bit of a minor issue to deal with. Since turkeys are stupid I usually just leave the mesh up as much as possible and not worry about it.

Muddy, only the mid west turkeys are stupid. They're way different in the northeast.

I shoot through mesh all the time. All the little x's in my mesh are war wounds. The mesh makes it so nothing can be seen in the blind as long as the window behind you is closed. Shooting through mesh does not affect arrow flight.

First of all, shoot thru mesh is NOT needed for hunting turkeys.....they pay absolutely no attention to the "black holes" in the blind like a deer would. I totally remove the mesh on my Dark Horse come spring time. As long as I'm wearing black from the waist up....shirt, mask, gloves....those birds won't see you in the blind. One thing you do need to watch is the direction you face your blind....you want to try to keep the sun at the back of your blind to avoid excessive light from entering the blind....they may pick you off.
