How many arrow's do you take with you ? ( poll )

Just for grins, how many do you guy's take with you in a tree.... I only take 3, but I know lot's of guys that take 5... I have never been in a situation yet that I could get more than one shot off, but I have only been bow hunting for 5 years now....

I carry five. One morning I shot at 2 yotes and shot a buck. You just never known and the weight of 2 more arrows is pretty minimal, especially since I take my quiver off when in the tree.

had a peep sight blow out when I drew back once and shot and proceeded to miss the same deer 4 times :mrgreen:

I usually carry 3-4, rarely needed more then one. One time I did double up on does, shot one that went 20 yards and went down - then doe #2 came in to investigate and I was able to get an arrow into her too. Two other times I was close to doubling up but couldn't get it done.

I voted four. I know I should only need one but chit happens. I can think of three different big bucks that I was able to get off two shots on, for instance during the 2005 season I was set up on a brushy island in the cattails, it was the middle of the day early october, after letting out a few loud grunts I could hear a deer running right at me he litteraly covered 200 hundred yards in less than a minute, I pulled my bow back as he closed the gap, at five yards i let buck fever get the best of me. I must have been focused on his rack cause thats were my arrow went, I smoked him in the brow tine blowing my arrow into a hundred pieces, he took off running i gave him a loud brrrrrp nocked another arrow and double lunged him a thirty yards...

Same here. Quiver is taken off at the tree. (3) good arrows and (1) flyer for practice shots and drilling unwanted small critters.

on a side note, is it legal to carry a practice tip arrow in your quiver ? I don't, but am assuming it is...

I only carry three and never found a reason to have more unless I am hunting out west where longer shots and lost arrows are more common.

I carry 3. In all the years (30 some) I have never shot more than 2. If I hunted in areas with high deer numbers and had lots of tags I'd carry a few more.

On a side note: I have never had the chance for a second shot at a deer I missed. I hear about stories where people empty their quivers on a deer all the time but I've never been lucky enough to have one stand there for even a second shot. May it's all the cussing I do after I miss. :roll:

The quiver holds four arrows, so that is how many I take. If it held ten......yep....I would take ten.

5. I shot 4 does in one sit and boy was I nervous when I only had 1 bullet left in my quiver!
