I don't think it would be wise to take a one lung shot in any situation, I've seen a number of deer that were single lung hit by people and still alive 3 days later......That being said, if you do take the shot, you need to be on the animal right away and push it to keep it bleeding out, you literally have to push it until it has no more blood in it's system as it can still breath perfectly fine with one lung.If you wait on it the blood loss will be minimal and there is a good chance you will not recover the deer. Liver and paunch hits are different because they are usually leathal if giving enough time to bleed out and the deer has time to stiffen up, but one lung hits are much different.
