Turkey season done :-(

Unread postby BONECRUSHER » Wed Apr 20, 2011 10:05 am

After seeing my son bag his 1st turkey yesterday I had today to fill my tag here in S.E. Michigan. With the weather looking a little better than yesterday I felt a little better about seeing some more birds, and boy did I  I sat up on 5 different birds through out the morning, all being young birds so I was hoping to get a little more mature bird. I walked up on to a bruiser longbeard that flatout busted me as I walked over the hill he was strutting his stuff on  Looked to be 10"-12" beard, Would've been the biggest I have taken. So with my tail between my legs I went on to where I found a group of 5-7 Toms in a huddle watching Daddy longbeard strut his stuff, as fate would have it he would leave. Fortunatly two of the others strayed up the hill and the rest is in the pic.

Image

Pic was taken of my phone and had nobody to take a pic of me with it
8" beard
3/4" spurs

Almost Identical to my sons bird :D
