First deer with the Recurve!
My trailcam caught this hunt as it happened!
Everything came together and my first deer with the recurve is down! With four does below me I finally was able to draw and release a beeman ICS hunter carbon arrow tipped with a Muzzy Phantom 100 grn broad head! Talk about sweeeeeet! ;D
I put out a little feed and set my trailcam on it. A few days later I checked the cam and they were on it the next day! No good tree for a stand so I climbed a hackberry tree.
At first light I saw the cam flash. Looked down at the feed and there was a doe.
While waiting for a broadside shot a spike came in and the doe ran off.
I slung one right over his back! lol
A little later with my arrow still sticking up by the feed, this bunch came in.
It took forever for me to get in position to shoot, with all them eyes! Remember I'm standing on this branch! lol They kept looking up at me!
Finally everything was right and I let one fly hitting her high in the spine and she went straight down! I was pumped up!

I shot my bigest bowkill with my compound, but the experience doesn't compare to my recurve kills. I rank the stick-bow kills as my most cherished memories. Great job and keep it up!

Re: First deer with the Recurve!
I like going thru these old posts and remembering the beginnings... Who would of known what this 1st deer would of lead into? One doe over a feed pile and look at Basinboy now. He is a killing machine with that stick and string. Its really cool to go back and look at the old posts and see the growth of members over the years and the way they have changed, and perhaps the ways they have changed us... Sometimes its almost scary... One post I was just looking at I realized more than 1/2 the people who responded are no longer alive... Its kind of a roller coaster of emotions looking at those posts.
Those of you that survived on this forum from the early years, I would encourage you to go back and read some posts from the glory years or go to peoples posts that shaped you and bring some of those posts and maybe even a little of that person back to life by bumping the good and great threads that effected you over the years.

That's a trip.
I saw the title and I was like, "Basinboy kills a crapton of deer with his recurve."

Wow!! It’s cool looking back a Basin’s first trad kill… I sure wouldn't want to be his prey now
