Big 6 pointer from SE WI a few years ago.

Unread postby Mountain Man » Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:58 am

The photo of the giant 6-pointer I posted in the taxidermy section made me think of a big 6-pointer shot in SE Wisconsin a few years ago. Below is a photo of the rack and the link goes to an article about the hunt with a picture of the mount.

Great looking 6 pointer!!

Back about 17 years ago I had a 6 point similar to that at 10 yards. I was snoozing In the tree when all of a sudden I heard grunting. I opened my eye's and there he was at 10 yards with his nose up the doe's you know what. I couldn't move and watched them walk on off un alarmed. Pissed I was. I figured he would of been real close to 125 Inches.

Are you saying that's the score of the buck (the 6 pt) In the start of the thread?

Great looking 6pt. Don't know what he scores but I would guess and agree that deer is pushing 150" if not slightly over.

Here is the score from the article which I assume is from after the drying period:
"This incredible 6-pointer has a gross score of 158 2/8 inches, and after 2 6/8 inches of deductions for asymmetry, the final net typical score is an unbelievable 155 4/8 inches."

I never would've guessed that. I was thinking more along the lines of 125 or so. They said the beams are 29 Inches, that's nuts! The G1's and G2's must be much longer then what I thought too. Wow, a stud of a 6 point.
