I have actually vomited acouple times after a shot, suspect from adrenaline over load. Both cases I had to watch the buck for an extremely long time up close b4 I got the shot. I do feel if I ever hunted out of state, waited 4 years for a Iowa tag, and was on the last eve hunt of a 5 day trip some nerves might be in the equation lol!

I'm nervous before and after the shot, more so before. Afterwards I get the buck fever going but when I know I got him, I'm grinning ear to ear. Need to work on execution of the shot, but that's the reason I hunt. You just can't get that excitement anywhere else

I voted for after the shot. I am excited before the shot, but I am usually so focused that I don't realize it. After the shot it takes me a while to calm back down.

My first few gun seasons any deer would get me shaking before the shot. I still get a little nervous now with the bow but not nearly as much.

I get nervous just being in the stand and anticipating the possibility of a shot. Especially early season. I get dry mouth which means I need to bring water and morning hunt nerves make me have to go to the bathroom. I have ruined a few hunts this way.

All depends. Got pretty good at controlling things with elk. I fight it harder with whitetails though. Does and bucks. So I didn't vote. Sometimes it's before during and after. But if that rush was gone. I'd quit.

I voted after the shot, I always get excited when a deer first comes in to sight but by the time it's close enough to shoot at I'm so focused it's like tunnel vision until after the shot then I usually get some shakes and take a few minutes to calm down.

Yeah If a deer holds up or takes a long time to get in range I get nervous! If they come in on a string I can hold it together and focus on the vitals. After I release the arrow though I turn to mush

What elwe can you do but wait and wait and you can't think about anything else so yes it gets bad when things move slow....but good bucks usually do move slow lol

I would of said yes but the last 2 out of 3 mature bucks I have killed I have been more relaxed and ready than I would of thought before hand. Last buck I killed I got nervous and anxious as I was running out of light and after snort wheezing him in and watching him cut the distance doing that pissed off side step.. make anyone shake

I don't really get nervous until after the shot when I have time to process what just happened. Once the deer comes in and I grab my bow and see a shot opportunity it's just like my brain goes into auto pilot. After the shot I start shaking as I replay everything in my head. Usually I calm down right before it's time to check my arrow, I always wait 30mins after the shot.

After the shot for sure. Before it's more of a focus type of thing.
