More after. Especially if they don't go down in site.

Shake like a leaf on a tree after the shot. One I decide to kill it, I just focus on the spot I am going to hit and watch his body language, till the shot is there. I used to get buck fever really bad, not looking at the rack seems to help me now. Nothing like it after making a good clean hit!

I still get jittery before the shot. I remember the first time I bow hunted I had a doe with two fawns come in, when I stood up I thought the whole tree must be shaking :D I never even drew back on the doe, I told myself it was because of the two fawns but nerves had more to do with it I think.

I don't bow hunt and I've never killed a buck the size that many of you have killed. The first deer I ever shot was an old mature buck who's rack was severely declining...he had good mass but one side was deformed. I pulled the trigger on him and wasn't nervous at all...ended up with a heart shot and he dropped right there. I voted before the shot but I'd say it's not really nervousness but more adrenaline....I don't shake but my heart rate accelerates. Just before I pull the trigger, I realize I will be ending the animals life and my heart rate accelerates. Now I do get nervous if the deer knows something is up and starts becoming really alert....more so if they are right under my stand. It doesn't matter what size it is, if it's 10 yrds away, I get buck fever. I'd say at least 50 yrds out I'm fine. I guess if I bowhunted and had some of those slobs that you guys shoot within 30 yrds, I'd probably get the shakes.

I'm usually nervous before the shot depending on how long I watch the buck and how big he is. But after the shot I get the shakes and a adrenaline rush. Gotta love bow hunting.

If I ever get a big buck in range I will come back and answer the poll question! Sad but true

I think I get nervous before the shot, just being worried that I am going to take all the correct steps. After the shot, I worry about the shot no matter how good of a shot it is. Unless I see the buck fall in sight I get worried. For bucks, once I decide its a shooter, I never look at the antlers again. I focus in on where I want to shoot on the deer and thats it, even as I watch the buck come in range.

I think there should have been an option for before, during and after. :)

I'm shaking just reading about it! lol Used to get pretty rattled. These days i'd like to think i can turn it off and bear down and kill the animal. Got pretty excited this year when an old stud gave me a show pestering a doe. Had he cooperated i think i could have got it done. That's a long ways from my younger years.

I get the shakes after the shot. Never much had an issue before, but after I can barely take a drink from my water bottle without spilling it all over me.

After for me. I can remember a few in my youth getting pretty worked up. Not to mention I had to work through a few years of grade A TP too. Took a few archery kills but I am good now. Nerves blew my first shot at a bull elk though. Got that one out of the way and I think I am good to go, knock on wood.
