Hunting AM or PM?
If you could only hunt Mornings or nights, what would it be. And when have you shot some of your best deer and what were the deer doing when you shot them. Chasing Does, going to bed, comming from bed, grazing?
Ill start. I really like mornings, my opinion could change someday. I shot to bucks both during the lull the past two years in the morning that were headed back to their beds.

Re: Hunting AM or PM?
to me it all depends on the season...iv killed bucks half in the morning and half at night...
in the early season, id rather hunt night catching them in their staging area right before they go hit the food
during the rut, id hunt the morning any day over night..i just see more/bigger bucks during the morning until about noon...
for late season, i would rather hunt nights because its so hard when there herded up to hunt the bedroom in the morning catching them coming back, then if you dont shoot one, you have to get out of the tree without spooking any deer which is next to impossible to do...
i guess for me, morning or night, whenever i can get out im gonna go

Re: Hunting AM or PM?
If I had to pick, I would pick mornings. I've shot quite a few bucks in the evening, but would much rather hunt them coming back to bed or cruising in the morning.

Evenings for me early season and late season.
During the rut....all day for sure! Been having great luck with big buck sightings especially mid-day from 10:00 A.M-2:00 P.M.

If I had to choose between the two then I would have to say evenings since that would give me more opportunities to hunt. The middle of the day has been my most successful.

I am more of an evening guy, but sometimes it is dictated beyond preference.

Mornings during late Oct. until the end of the rut. I would trade an evening for a morning anyday during the rut! Otherwise evenings.

I'll go with the flow here, I like mornings during the rut, but evenings on either side of it, the rest of the season.

Re: Hunting AM or PM?
I have generally been a morning guy in the past, and actually the majority of the deer Ive killed in the past have been between 9-10am, although none of them were mature bucks.
I always liked the mornings more because I saw more deer, but I also didnt learn about Beast style hunting til just a few months ago, which will focus more of my hunting time on the evenings.
Morning hunts will definitely still have their time and place though..

Re: Hunting AM or PM?
It depends on where your set up. Some spots suit mornings/evenings better. For me It seems the spots I hunt are better In the evenings. My mature buck sightings I bet are 5 to 1 favoring the evenings. I also hunt evenings more too though because of my job.
