I hear some of them are starting to drop, it might be early but I think it often depends on each individual deer. They might be worn down from the rut and drop early or they could just have the genetics to drop early.

The Iowa DNR keeps track of shed bucks shot/reported and there are already 100s killed since 1st weekend of December down here. Not uncommon for early shedding.

According to our DNRs web page the number of shed bucks killed (as of today) in Iowa's 2010 season (probably all from Dec/Jan obviously) is 919 shed bucks. We also have killed 11865 button bucks.

Ouch...

At least Iowa keeps track... WI doesn't seem to give a ratz a$$ as long as deer are being killed
