Re: Hunting Magazines
this forum is much better than a mag...however, whitetail hunting strategies was by far the best mag but appears to longer be in publication.

Re: Hunting Magazines
I agree with muddy my only two subscriptions are NAW and Big Buck. I cant beleive the price on some of those magazines that come out around deer hunting time. Ive seen different magazines be up to $10 a issue, I dont get it. It sure seems for me anyways that since a person has all the info he/she wants on the internet thats its hard to go out and get a half dozen magazine subscriptions like I used to do.

Re: Hunting Magazines
I have two as well North American Whitetail and Big Buck. I get them more of less to see some of the big deer shot and read some of the stories on them. If I want to talk strategy the Beast is the only place I come for it!

Re: Hunting Magazines
Thanks for all the replies.
I've been a subscriber to Big Buck since about 2001, and I'm a big fan of Garry Donald. I also have his video Where Legends Roam. I just let the sub run out. I think I'll re-up on this one.
Is NAW still worth getting? I guess it still is. Who's the editor of that one currently?
So I think it's a toss up between NAW and Deer and Deer Hunting, or even Petersons....
What? No one gets buckmasters???

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Re: Hunting Magazines
NAW is only worth it to see some current big buck stories, the strategy articles still suck. Internet is best place for info in my opinion.

I have a bunch of vids on loan to friends. PM me your address, and if I get it back from my dead beat friends you can check it out. It had that buck "Heavy Duty" that Garry was following for years.

Re: Hunting Magazines
My favorite is Bow and Arrow Hunting. Its more DIY compared to the guieded hunts in Bowhunter and others. I let my subscribition to NAW to go. The big buck stories in it are cool though. Bow and Arrow seems to have the perfect mix b/w whitetails and western game to me. The one problem w/ magazines is all the scentlok mess. I also enjoy the occasional Eastmans Bowhunting Journal every now and again.

Time to get wireless!
I have been slowly letting all my subscriptions go, like others have said you can learn so much more online. I still might pick up a mag here and there but then again maybe not.
