The saddest time of the year

Unread postby magicman54494 » Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:36 am

Today I'm going thru all my hunting stuff and packing things away.  This is always a tough time for me. I never want it to end! I'm still going to do some bow hunting but that will be limited.
Anyone else go thru withdrawls at the end of season?

Ya I hear you it bites when the season comes to an end!!! I try to get a little ice fishing and do some snowmobiling to take up the slack. I also plow about 15 driveways out with my truck  been a little busy lately!! Before I know it, I will be doing my spring scouting. I already thinking next season ;)

I agree Magic, it can be a downer after waiting all year for the season to start. I'm still pretty jacked up for the last few weeks of bow season.

Im just getting my stuff ready to go! School has done a pretty good job of keeping me out of the woods, but I go on break here pretty quick..Heading up to my family's cabin for a few days..Pretty pumped..

And as Bucky said, shed season is just around the corner..and I cant wait to get some scouting done (now that I know what Im looking for :) )

Withdrawls? Track them with a bow! Otherwise jump in that 86 buick and drive down here for the holiday hunt. You can park the camper in the yard. It ain't over yet!

I'm excited for shed season and scouting. I still have an Iowa late muzzleloader tag, but I'm already thinking about sheds. I'd have to say the worst time of the year for me is after turkey season. I'd say from the end of May to the middle of July.

I agree magic! It seems like hunting season goes by faster than any other time of year. I may get to hunt one or two more times this year. It has been a great year but I hate to see it come to an end. :(

I too have packed away the "early season" dark patterned camo in exchange for the snow camo. I know it will only see the woods a few times and it makes me sad. A lot of coyote hunting, ice fishing, food plotting and scouting will have to hold me over until next fall. Good luck all the late season is the best season!

I usually cant wait for season to end once December comes. I usually hunt really hard and I work 5 days a week. I hunt every chance I get and from October till January I dont sleep past 5am, so I get tired and burnt, BUT I cant not go out.

Once December 31 hits and season is over I will be morbidly depressed for a brief period of time, and then I live in the woods scouting until April.
