Forgot my Bow MN Buck

Unread postby Dor » Thu Nov 04, 2010 1:30 pm

Well I've been logging some long hours in the stand the last week and 1/2 with very little to show for it in terms of mature buck sightings. As most of you know it's hard to lug your stand in pre-dawn set it up, sit till 12 or 1 daily and then get back out by 230-3. This hold especially true when little is seen in terms of mature buck sightings. This particular hunt goes to show that you need to keep at it because things can change fast and when least expected.

Yesterday AM I decided to hunt a newer spot that I had little confidence in, but new bucks traveled it despite the lack of sign. I woke early and got all the way there only to realize I had forgotten my bow. So, I turned around and went back home to grab the bow. By the time I finally made it back to my stand it was 745am....way late. I sat down, sent my buddy a text stating I had made it in safely and nocked an arrow. I looked up and there he was coming down the ridge. I had him down within sight at 802am. Officially the shortest hunt I have ever taken part in.

I've saw some of the bucks you've shot over the last 5 years over on TMH. You've been good for a long time.

Pass some of that luck my way will ya????!!!!

Doesn't it seem when all the best laid plans that go awry tend to end in a fantastic and quick end????

Congrats on the nice buck.

I've always agreed with the statement "I'd rather be lucky than good any day". :)
