Is this the same deer?

Unread postby Chasman » Wed Oct 06, 2010 10:20 pm

I had the early pics and one other bad pic of the velvet buck. Until recently no sign of him, well maybe its not him. What do you think?

Hard for me to tell with the pictures you have posted. Any idea what is he looking at in both pictures?

I don't think so. But I think they could be related.

Wrinklneck,

Camera is located at a 3 trail intersection. Depending on the direction the deer come from I get side shots,rear-end or head on. The deer in velvet is wondering who is coming now and the hard horn buck came from that direction and is looking down the other trail.

They look different to me also. One seems a lot wider.

At first look I thought it was the same deer then after looking more at both pics I could see some differences. Velvet may have screwed me up some. I have not seen either deer during daylight hours. I have been trying to figure out movements to and from bedding. Any thoughts on how to proceed? Mornings versus evening?
