Love them buck pics, especially the one next to the deadfall with water on the other sides. I love finding a cool buck bed like that. How far off the road is that bed ?

That one is about 1/2 mile from a two track and about a mile from the road.

Great thread. Very easy learning from these pics.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Great picture from Black squirrel. When you look at that picture you can tell the wind direction cause the bucks are looking downwind. Check out there body positions, if you look close there back is arched and there legs are to one side. Looking for that arch, or marks/impressions from legs and feet have helped me see how the deer laid and on what wind.

This one I found on the tip of a spur in hill country. The bed is on a slab of limestone sticking out of the ground.

What a great view from the bed. This buck likes to watch you park next to the road down below, and watches you walk into the woods. He disappears before you take that first step into the woods.

I like that last pic, Crazi. I would like to see more views from beds. That's interesting to me.

Dan and Singing Bridge taught me that. When you find a buck bed, get down low and look around from a buck's point of view. You will be amazed what he can see. Some beds I find are in dense brush, which the buck may be depending on wind and sound to alert him of danger. There is a thread somewhere here that is about how a buck beds in accordance with his line of sight and what the buck can see. I will try to do some digging to find it, or maybe someone else can get the link before I do.
