Sorry for the late reply guys. Just got off the mountain from a DIY BLM elk hunt in WY. To answer your questions. Yes we could arrange something if a buckle would happen to break, never had it happen yet, but if you slammed in a car door or something wierd I suppose it could potentially happen.
Cold weather has also NOT been an issue. The rubber we use is very high grade EBD and we have never had weathering issues. As to slippage, it can happen over a period of time and use but will happen so slowly that you will not notice, so simply just periodically check your straps to make sure they are as tight as you need, its not like they are hard to adjust.
We have a new prototype design that will feature ridges across the rubber to absolutely prevent this from happening(it will come in a 3 ft version replacing the 2 and 4 ft models). It's definately not much of an issue but the ridges will ensure it never happens and will make our product have more of a finished look. The new design (and old one) worked great out in WY for attaching elk quarters to our frame packs and so far we are very pleased. It also doubled as a belt since I lost about 10 lbs.
We have our new mold completed and are waiting on our first run of the new product. Once they come in, I will be sending Dan a set to test and give his review/opinion on since he has been so kind to allow me to post here. When we get these in I will probably have a few other guys take a stab a reviewing in exchange for a complimentary set.
