Cool pictures...it's neat to get a perspective from another country.
Are the Roe Deer similar in size to the whitetails we have here?

Sherry, I believe they are alot smaller. Probably about the size of a northern whitetail mixed with a Key Deer whitetail. Just a guess. I think the red deer might be equivalent to the whitetail in size.

Sherry & Deb,
The size of a Roe Deer are smaller. 63 in 68 cm (females) and 66 in 73 cm (males)(withers) of height in the withers, 95 in 135 cm long, 13 in 22 kg for females against 17 in 30 kg for males (35 in a very rich housing environment), and to live until 15 years (most however not overtaking 6 or 7 years).
For the Reed Deer, total length from 1,6 to 2,6 meters, for 1,10 in 1,50 meters in height in the withers and a weight from 75 to 250 kilograms. Live until 25 years in captivity (most however not overtaking 14 or 17 years).

Warmly,
"Huntingly",
L-H
