Would You shoot?

Unread postby Mike Foss » Sat Aug 28, 2010 1:25 am

Would you shoot a bear with 3 legs :?: Why & Why not.
This bear started coming into my one of my bait stations last year, he is already over 100lbs heavier than last year. I can tell he will be a very big bear in a few years. Would you think differently if he was over 300lbs?

One of my clients shot this big 3 legged bear, very long bear, was over 300lbs and scored 19-11/16. Great trophy.

Would I shoot, yes if he was the size I wanted. Obiviously he has beaten the odd of surviving so he is just as hard to kill as a 4 legged bear. He looks to have a big head, but is skinny looking.

I guess the only reason I wouldn't would be if I wanted a rug made. That would be a weird looking rug!

Lol Todd!! If he's the size I'm looking for he could have 2 legs and he's getting an arrow.

I would have no problem with taking out a three leg bear. But considering we only get one tag, I would want it to be one of the best bears coming to my bait. Sure would make a weird mount

Cool trail camera pic. Yeah, if he's big enough, I'm shooting too.

Looks healthy, one tag! Personal preference. I would mount him just for gits and shiggles.

Yes, I would shoot, would make a cool 3/4 or full mount.

Years ago we had three legger coming to a bait, it was neat watching how he was getting along just fine and he was just as wiley as any other bear.
