dead found bucks

Unread postby Brandon » Tue Mar 05, 2013 8:10 am

Its always been interesting to me how so many of the larger bucks are found dead. I beleive some of the top whitetail in the world have been found dead?

Share you story and or/picture of some giants youve found. I know its heartbreaking... but its nice to recover the bone.

Ive found a lot, but only a couple nice bucks. Biggest is this 150" 11 pointer from MD public land I found this season. I beleive this was the buck I planned to hunt back at wood duck flooded spot.

Couple nice ones in there Zap.

Who's from Michigan?

Sharon Weidmayer found an extremely large racked buck on her property in Clinton that may become the biggest non-typical ever recorded in Michigan.

Missouri Monarch: The World Record Non-Typical Whitetail Buck

"The toothless buck was found dead, apparently of natural causes. The deer had a non-typical antler rack that measured 333 7/8 under the complicated Boone and Crockett trophy scoring system. "

Found this buck a few years after it died. It was the last booner I have seen on the hoof. I had him at 20 yards but no shot. Scored 176+ Not sure what killed him but he was in some real nasty gnarly stuff.

I've never found a big one here in michigan, always seems like the porcupines and other critters eat them.

Yes it was a bedding area. I walked by this buck dead, laying there (20 yards) at least 20 times before I found him. The skeleton was all there nothing could drag off the bones like they normally do (just too thick).

That buck was seen haging around a farm with the other bucks head attached to his rack.
Game warden put him down, he was too weak to get up.

Found this guy last spring... 120ish 10-pointer. I don't know who this was, we didn't have any pictures of him at all and didn't see him while hunting either.
