Permission on 100+ acres!
Yesterday one of my senior residents was talking about her sisters farm out in the country that she has. I've known for a few years now that her sister lived out in the country, but she never told me that her sister lived on a farm. Right away, the bells went off in my head and I had to ask, How much land do they have???? So she said over 100 acres. Do you think her and her husband might let me hunt it, I asked? She said I'll go call her and let you know. A while later she comes back and says yes! She said that her husband would like to meet me first. She said we'll get in my car Saturday morning and I'll take you up there for breakfast and her husband will show you around a bit. So by now I'm thinking that I should offer some time to help with projects or chores around there to try to make a good impression. You never know, maybe I can get in good with a few of the other farmers in the area. Its only about a 23 mile drive from where I live, and I already know that it is a good area for deer and there is no public land within a reasonable distance of this area. I'll let you know how it goes as I learn more about this new spot. I'm pumped!!!! Gotta love it!!!!

Excellent, brotha- networking to find access is where its at! Your offer to help around the farm can only help. A couple more things:
* Let them do most of the talking (be a good listener). Answer any questions they have in a thoughful manner. Be respectful and courteous while containing your excitement.
* Sounds like an older couple- dress appropriately in what they would perceive as a respectful manner. I'm not saying wear a suit and tie, but at least take it up a notch.
keep us posted, Rav.

Lucky! I have been out knocking on doors asking for permission and getting denied! It is hard for a complete stranger to give someone permission to use what is their's. I understand completely. Networking is the way to do it!!
