Alligator

Unread postby Cage Rattler » Thu Jul 29, 2010 2:49 am

I just received notification that I was drawn for an Alligator Permit hunt. These hunts are fairly new and Arkansas gives 37 public permits per year, so it's kind of rare. I'm fired up now. Already got some gators lined up. Has anyone had experience hunting gators?

I hunted gators in Louisiana a couple years back. It is a rush for sure! Are you allowed to hunt them at night in Ar? Louisiana it was not legal to night hunt them , so we used baited hooks and once we had a gator on ,we pulled him slowly to the surface and I stuck him with an arrow or 5
I have the hunt on video if you're interested.

Yes, it's actually only legal at night. We have to snare them first, subdue them (whatever that means), and then you can pop them. I'd be interested in seeing that video. Thanks,

Congrats on the rare permit Cage Rattler, now go slay a gator! 8-) Remember to take plenty of pics. How long of a season do you have, and when does it start?

The season is 3 days and starts September 18 or September 24th. I have to take a mandatory training session prior to the hunt. Don't worry my memory card will be full of pics.
