Surviving a bear attack...

Which would you rather have if attacked by a black bear and these were your only choices?

I voted the 10 inch knife, but I lied. My .357 is usually not far away when I'm out in the woods.

10 inch hunting knife. If the .22 was a semiautomatic or a pistol I would have went that way.

The Rav are right! I certainly prefer an .357

But if you are a good shooter, I would say an .22 is better then the rest for me?!

I can't hit a softball past the pitcher's mound with an aluminum bad, but I can shoot father with the .22

I would have to go with the .22 rifle. Noise to scare him and the possible lucky-shot that may take the ornery beast out! He may not want me after he smells the load of crap in my underpants as I am screaming like a girl!

As some of you already seen with my bear trail cam pic,I had my first encounter with a bear in my hunting area. I ,ll admit I,m a bear baby ,it freaked me out a little knowing that thing my creeping around the swamp I hunt. So when i seen that pic ,I armed myself pretty fast with my folding saw,and even strapped the spare blade onto my walking stick.Well that did,nt go all that well ,in the process i cut open my thumb pretty bad.So there I am a 1/2 mile from the road ,a big black bear in the vicinity,my blood pressure pumping and on top of it,bleeding all over the place .I thought for sure my family would be reading about the guy who was tracked down by a bear following his bloodtrail through the swamp.
So not sure if you should add my folding saw to the list or not,at least i never had to use it.

It,s funny cause everone always asks me if i ever get scared roaming around them swamps with all the creatures out there. Especially in the dark walking back at night from post.I usually don,t use a flashlight cause i think it scares the deer. I,ve just never been rattled b4 ,even when i chased out a mountain lion last year and people always talking about mountain lion and bear sightings.I gues a guy finds out just how tough he is sometimes.

Mountain lions in the dark ....now that gets me nervous but bears not so much.

I chose the lip extender, cause outta those choices that would be the most useful! In all seriousness I would rather be in the woods with black bear than a mountain lion anyday.......Cats are much more dangerous!

There are no good choices but I chose the .22. Maybe I could throw one or two rounds into his face before contact???

I would have chosen the knife if I had a hunting partner with me......Not for the bear, but rather to slit my partners achilles tendons while I ran away!!!!
