You will find that the bucks will follow the elevation line right where the thermal wind and the wind coming from the west meet. Somewhere around that elevation you will find some good trails cutting around that draw...
And Yes... Those trails should show up right now. There even might be a rubline along the trail.

Thanks, and thanks for adding another mile to my scouting trip this weekend! :) The temps are going to cool almost 20 degrees from now until Saturday plus it is going to rain several days. I will be looking for trails and exact treestand locations.

I added another rut spot that I think holds some promise. It's the black spot with the white dot in the center. It's on the edge of the pink area Dan had marked and I added some blue trails where I thought most of the activity will come from. They may come into that spot from the NW too. I like the saddle near your southern most light blue spot, but I'm not sure about the middle dot.

Thanks for all of your help guys, I am heading in to scout this area now....in the rain. I would rather be wet than have to walk around in 100 degree temps. I am bringing the topo maps, gps, and camera.

singing off,

Well I walked a good distance today in the rain. I just did not have any energy in my legs today but I kept going. I think it kind of affected my mental so my scouting suffered a bit. I SUCK at finding deer beds, man I really do.

So to the map. I walked the path in pink. The areas in brown I found a tremendous amount of deer droppings and tracks. The black lines represent a serious deer trail with extremely steep sides. The yellow circles=where I jumped does. The blue line represents where the deer can first cross from the west of the lake to the east...it links both sides and a swampy area exists in the middle. The swamp was loaded with deer sign and tracks. It hasn't rained in weeks but I found some mud holes with deer and turkey tracks everywhere. All in all I think I added the swamp as a piece to the puzzle and just confirmed my suspicions that those high travel route areas are real and hold a good amount of does.

If I can get enough energy I will head out to scout tomorrow.

Nice pics. How many beds did you find and where were they?

Finding beds in summer can be tough.
