My buddy has the ScoutGuard which is the same cam as the Trophy Cam. He is still on the original set of batteries and its 2 years old. It has taken thousands of pics and he's never changed the batteries once....pretty impressive.

How about a final test? Go in there and see if you bump a deer out (hopefully you do). Mark the date/time and swap out the card/batterys. Lets see how long it takes for him to go back to using that bed after you stunk it up. :D

1st time in should be a hunt.... try to kill him, get the cam on the way out... or just swap cards.

Well, i picked up the buck bed camera a couple days ago. As I entered the general area of the bedding tree i was encouraged to see a few large tracks in the moss. When I got to the tree my heart sank as I noticed the camera was tilted towards the tree trunk - not aimed at the bed! The bed itself did not look recently used, no hair in the bed like I found last spring. No readable tracks in or immediately around the bed itself. The information window on the reconyx cam said 3000 pictures had been taken and the batteries were at 82% power yet! Back home on the computer I found that the camera had worked perfectly, I had hourly daytime pictures from May 27th--November 30th ( when I picked up the camera). The camera was indeed aimed at the bed from May 27th--August 14th. Then, a racoon ( I assume) tilted it away from the bed. The pictures revealed NO DEER bedded there the three months the camera was on target  .
Lord only knows if any bucks bedded there September---November.
Here is a little sample of the pictures I got.
