saw two strutters yesterday going to work and one on the way home!
i think its becasue of the late spring what do u guys think?

I ve seen them strutting in July already, maybe even latter. Not sure why the do that.

They will strut all year long but not as much as in spring. I have seen them strut and fight in October and November to reinforce the pecking order. Strutting later in the year is for establishing/maintaining dominance. I would guess that strutters right now could be trying to get a hen that maybe had her nest/brood destroyed or it could be dominance.

You gotta give them credit for still trying! Seriously though its nothing out of the ordinary all year long as MM said. I saw 3 strutting together today as well while checking trail came.

i was up north last weekend herd two gobbling still tearing it up
the hens have got to be sick of it! personaly my favorite sound of spring is a longbeard sounding off
ive been hittin hard since 99" still get goose bumps!

Turkeys gobble and strut year round, just not with the frequency they do in the spring.......Matter of fact last year in the deer stand early Nov. we had a group of gobblers sounding off on the roost one morning, one came strutting down an old field road and I yelped with my voice, he stuck out his neck and gobbled away! lol
