Arrowed a gobbler this morning

Unread postby Mountain Man » Fri Apr 22, 2011 8:02 am

Image

A nice 2 year old. 20lbs., 9 inch beard, 3/4 inch spurs. ~25yd shot.

I watched him come in by himself from about 150 yards. He did some strutting, drumming, spitting, and a little gobbling but wouldn't come into the decoys. I suspect b/c I had a tom standing over a hen. I'll post more in the contest thread later. I got the kill on video but he was farther away than I wanted/had the camera set for. I had the camera set up for the decoy area and I didn't want to mess with it - I just wanted to focus on the shot. It's still cool video.

Great job!! Did you use a blind? I didnt see one in the pic. Thats really tough with a bow and no blind!! Either way a bow kill turkey is awesome :D :D

Excellent! So what kind of bow, broad heads, etc?
