He's ready to rock!

Unread postby cornfedkiller » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:53 am

Gander mountain had the Primos Killer-B on sale a few weeks ago, and I had some gift cards to burn there so I decided to pick one up. After a very generous guy on another site offered to send me a fan, I worked for a little bit getting it set up. The Primos decoys come with a plastic holder that you stick the tail feathers into, then you have to glue any accent feathers on if you want. I trimmed the bottoms off the outside feathers so that it looks like a jake fan..figured it would be less intimidating to some of the younger and less aggressive toms.

Im really happy how it turned out, and I cant wait to get him out in the field!

That will work for sure. One extra trick/step I went with on my Pretty Boy was skinning/tanning the wings and back feathers into a drape over "blanket" for the deek. The tail makes them look good, the wings make them look awesome, those back feathers swaying in the wind are over the top.

Granted, gobblers have been known to attack black garbage bags!

I noticed that in your thread..and actually I didnt even realize that was a Pretty Boy - I thought that was a real mounted turkey!

I dont have any wings or back feathers (yet), so this will have to do for now..

The fan holder thing that primos makes is really nice because it folds up..
