How does Wisconsin’s tags work, can you buy tags for each season or is it a regional thing?

we have to apply for a certain zone and time period. after all the applied tags are filled they sell the remaining left over tags in a online lottery that goes quickly.

So how many turkeys can you kill per year, is it how ever many of the lottery tags you can snag?

you can buy up to 1 tag per day until they are sold out. so if theres 100s of remaning tags, you can buy one tag every day until they are sold out!

I got 4 tags this year. dose not mean I will kill 4 turkeys lol

After 2 skunkings we switched it up to a different place. Walking in spotted 4 jakes, 4 hens, and 3 gobbs all in a group. Watched them a bit and then snuck in and set up when they went over a rise. Have killed a pile of birds in this particular field over the years. Fingers crossed they circle around before fly up. Youth weekend I think we seen 17 in this field. Think 9 birds have been killed here that I know of.

At least it's sunny, slight breeze, and a beautiful day.

I took one out with my truck over in KM a number of weeks ago so now there is one less for you to kill now.

Good luck BigHunt. 8-)

True, but the first few milliseconds of a pheasant and sandhill call get my ears perked for a turkey, only to be let down milliseconds later.

I hunted with my brother in law and a friend yesterday morning.
We heard 4 distant gobbles on the neighbor at day light.

We hunted until about 11:00 without hearing or seeing anything and then I called in 4 jakes and a hen.

We passed the jakes but it turned a slow day into a fun hunt.

Back into an area where we had a bird skirt us thru this saddle. Upon closer inspection this is the place to be... several big deer trails going thru here and the fence is down. Hoping for some action that involves feathers and spurs, not bearded mushroom hunters.

Spitting distance of public so we'll see how things shake down.

Kids only. I wasnt able to get any cams out this spring so each hunt has been a dart throw. With me home schooling it has severely limited my personal time. When we get to our 4th season I may have to take a few hours here or there for myself.
