Didn’t realize he had 2 beards when I followed him to his roost the night before. Set up 40 yards from him So I could kill him before he made it to the hens 80 yards away.

My fiancé first bird! Mine took me 2 shots. Called 3 in all after 5:30 pm. Mornings sucked!

Reaped this one in. Belly crawled for 50-75 yds, showed him the fan and once I was close enough to him he ran at me. He closed the distance pretty quick. Shot him at 15 yards. Reaping is for sure the most exciting way to kill these birds, IMO.

Been the hardest season I have seen here in WV! I messed with one particular bird on my favorite ridge for a week before deciding to try a well used roost tree in another area. I slipped in an hour before dark and setup 60 yards from the tree. Just as it got light enough to see I could see a gobbler sitting on the limb right where I expected. I shifted around and had the gun ready and let out a few soft clucks and some tree yelps which got his attention. As I'm watching him I see another bird fly down and over the bank and I figured it was a hen so I didn't pay much attention to it. About two minutes later I hear the infamous "SPIT!" and standing at 25 yards in full strut is the first bird that flew down  Luckily he was right down the gun barrel and all I had to do was make a good shot! Was done at 6:18 that morning 8-)

I spent 3 days last week hunting these birds with no luck. A few days and getting in just the right spot made all the difference.

Finally got a chance to hunt WV after a bunch of blown opportunities and a miss in VA. Took me two days in a row and about 5 miles of walking to finally get this 2 year old in range. He was alone both days and gobbling non stop just would not commit to a call and come in range.

No perfect pictureoments for me this year.... very wet season. Naturally, the sun came out after i was done hunting. However, 25 minutes of hunting over 2 days yeilded two mature PA gobblers, even with the rain it was a good season!

Had a fantastic 2nd season in Michigan for 2019. My Dad got his Tom early Monday morning in the wind and rain. Then my brother got his Tom Tuesday night after it stopped raining. We didn't hunt Wednesday but on Thursday I got my Jake. And then my Grandpa who's turning 80 this month got a great Tom on Friday that we were able to get on video. It was an action packed week for sure. 4 days 4 birds down!

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
