Double Down in Turkey Town!

Unread postby MissionOutdoors » Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:38 am

On this hunt Marine Corps veteran Jacob Raimann is with me in the ground blind on his very first turkey hunt ever! It didn't take long for things to heat up as the turkeys had been roosting closer than anticipated, and we took advantage of the situation by scoring a quick double on a pair of jakes during the 2017 Minnesota Turkey season. Sometimes it's not the size of the spurs or beard that matter, but rather spending time with a new hunter that matters most.

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun. I'll be taking Jacob out on his second ever turkey hunt this April, but that's just the start of my season... I mentor a lot of hunts in MN and WI every year, and try to film them all. This year it seems as if I'll have at least 6 separate outings where I'll either be mentoring a disabled vet, or youth new too turkey hunting. It's a lot of fun! but by the end of the season I'm ready for a break till bow season opens up in Sept! haha
