Tagged out in Missouri

Unread postby mastevt » Sun May 01, 2016 12:52 am

Well I managed to tag out in Missouri. Tuesday, I was hunting at a friends place, and I called in this nice 3 to 4 yr old Tom. 23lbs, 1 1/4 spurs, and 9in beard.
Used my slate over glass trough call, with some mix of the glass over glass pot call, and a Rosewood striker I had just made
for a customer.

Then on Thursday, I was back on my 80 and called in a young 2 yr old Tom. 18lbs, 3/4 spurs, and 9 1/2 beard.
I was using a 3in copper over glass and acrylic striker. The 3in copper call is triple dyed, and stabilized Spaulted Maple.
It was to Die for!

Thanks John. I didn't get a chance to tell ya, but after I left, I went up to the cabin to check on the County and their work. Spooked off a big tom off near my pond. You should get up there and hunt him. Theres a big ole Oak just down from the cabin off the corner of the foodplot, 20 yards from the pond. He's been up in that area all spring gobbling from what Gary said. Go get him!
