Rookie move

Unread postby Archerperu » Sat Mar 26, 2016 3:55 am

I have being waiting the leftover permit tag sale for weeks. I entered to the new go wild website and I add the tag and a license since I am first timer. And then! I had to enter the number of my hunter education certificate that I just got 1 week ago. And then my whole world crumble apart. I left the certificate at home, I tried to reach my wife desperately but she couldn't answer the phone on time. What a bummer. This is not a hunt related post but I need to share my anxious and share this so I can dissipate my anger. Kill lots of turkeys for me this spring.

Awwwww man that's a bummer. I hate that happened to you. Best of luck when you can get tags.

I think the whole left over system is flawed... People should apply for tags, and get them, or everyone can buy one... Its not equal opportunity for every one. some people must work, some are out of state, etc.

seems like 2 is impossible to get a tag for early seasons unless you own land.

UpdAte, I went to DNR office that I didn't know is 4 blocks from work, and the lady that is an awesome person sold me a mentor tag, she said since I have the hunters education training I could validate the license after without a problem. She said she will hate for me to go back and find out they don't have tags anymore. So she helped me out and now I have a tag for zone 5, period E. I was thinking to get on 3 or 4 but I will take 5 without hesitate. My coworkers were so happy I got a tag because this morning I had a no friends face.

Now you could do it from your phone. I was doing mine like that but I couldn't finish the process without my hunter education number.

I am glad hat you got it worked out. There are some things that are best handled in person.

Generally you can just make up a number for that hunter certificate thing, they don't really track it in most states. Not encouraging anyone to be dishonest, but if you are in a tight spot say IDK, out of state at a walmart, not speaking from experience here or anything.
