Image My grandaddy bird... 10 1/2" beard, 1 3/4" spurs and weighed in at 23#... Got him two hunts after i called my brothers bird in and when i found him strutting his stuff by some hens in a little hide away field i was waiting for him to come back the next morning on the first time in after him, and when he arrived at the field at an hour after first light and he caught eye of my decoy (which in the early season strutting decoys r killer if u need a visual attractant) he took nearly 20 minutes to stiff leg walk 75 yards in and eat some lead.... I love this pic bc it looks like my decoy just kicked his but lol

Montana decoys r for the guys who hears and gets a bird fired up and literally runs after birds that want a piece of what a guy can offer... A lot of people wont hunt with me unless i already have a bird patterned first thing in the morning for an almost def kill bc i cover a lot if ground really fast, keeps the family in shape lol

2015 was kind of rough for me. Late spring and it took a couple weeks for our birds to get going. Did kill the pictured double with my little bro. Also missed a silent satellite bird that came in on my peripheral as I was working a hot bird. 4 day trip to Kentucky was pretty good for working birds, but I didn't close the deal there either.

We open up Tuesday morning and I can't wait. Birds seem to be ready this year. Found one this morning for my draw hunt Tuesday and Wednesday.

I agree, what is that a 30" beard?

Its funny you mention that. When I shot that bird... he got attacked by the other 2 gobblers. It was a sight to see :)
