Re: Spring fever
The place my dad hunts is OVERRUN with them. The rancher has told all 10 guys on his lease to shoot their limit this year, or the new hunters next year will do it. (pretty sure he is serious) It is not uncommon to see 60 or 70 in a group. they have lifted the "no paid share, no hunting" rule because of it, and I hope to help with the situation this spring :-)
Go where none other dare to go, and there you'll find success.

Re: Spring fever
My state your only allowed one. I usually tag one the first day or two. One of the most beautiful things in nature is a spring gobbler IMO. I look foward to it every year

Re: Spring fever
Me and another hunting friend are gonna use it this year as an excuse to seriously scout new areas for deer. I have tried turkey hunting before but it's not my jam. I don't like store bought turkey much less wild turkey. Everyone's always trying to make turkey taste good, turkey burgers, turkey bacon etc. You have to fry a turkey to make them taste good and it's still not as good as fried chicken.
My freezers full of deer meat. When turkey season gets here, im gonna dress up and walk around with a gun but mainly it's just an excuse to find some deer beds!

Nothing wrong with that. It is a great time of year to be in the woods. I usually stumble across some cool finds during spring gobbler season. The occasional shed. I love the feeling of hearing that gobble at dawn and seeing that Tom come struttin up on ya.

This is not targeted at anyone specifically, but if your season always ends in a day or two with a tagged bird, try extending your season by bowhunting them. Sometimes it's just as easy, but usually it will add a little more woods time to your season.

My season is two weeks. I can only hunt the weekends. Save my vacation time for deer. Maybe when I retire ill take up bowhunting turkeys and travel to different states. Usually after I tag my bird ill help family and friends get one.
