Here's the video from the tom I watched fly down yesterday. I learned my lesson. Turkeys like to fly up from the roost rather than down. I also learned that the entire time I thought he was strutting in the river flat below on Wednesday, he probably hadn't even left the roost yet. It was an AN HOUR AND A HALF after legal shooting light that he finally flew down, and was the last of the birds in that area to do so. My rear end was pretty numb from sitting on that tree root. If I had set up at the landing zone, I would have needed to evade about 16 eyes walking around before he finally pitched down. It was pretty cool hearing all the turkey sounds. I could also hear him drumming for an hour in the tree.

Re: Tom Flydown Video
And here's the jake fly-up video. At the time I thought it was a hen. The clucking confused me. It was about 60 yards, too far to notice a beard.
