Has anyone ever used mating decoys before? Did they draw turkeys in any better than non mating?
My wife and I have mostly been running and gunning the last couple of days with some good encounters, but our best action was this morning at sun up just sitting without decoys. Kids are coming home from the grandparents tomorrow afternoon, so we borrowed a a blind so we can sit in the same spot for a few hours and be more comfortable and get away with a little movement. We also went to bass pro and picked up a jake/hen pair that can be mating or seperate. Just looking for a little advice for setup.
As always thanks for your advice!

Re: Mating decoys
I have had good luck with a DSD submissive hen and a jake behind it, never had much luck with decoys until I went to be DSD's. I still cry when I see what I paid for them but the proof is in the results.

I've had super luck with the Pretty Boy and the lay down hen. Works great and doesn't break the bank.

I must the only person in the us who has had bad luck with strutting decoys. Every bird I had come in would hang up at about 60-80 yards and just stare. I know they could of ben sub dominate birds but I swung missed a bunch of times, However hens loved him had a more than one hen come in and lay down in front of my stutter.... brown chicken brown cow
yes jakes and 2 year olds are a little afraid of him,
but the big ol adult toms don't care and WANT HIM OUT!!!!!!!!!!
