First time out this season and sealed the deal. Borrowed my friends blind and dsd flock hoping to get my first filmed kill. Plenty of gobbling from roost but pretty quiet after that. A strutter and jakr and hens came out briefly around 7 am but the hens headed back into the woods and so did the lonely boys. The fields remained empty all morning and at noon I had enough. On with the vest and off to the woods to make something happen. First sit on a high ridge and I make some calls with the ol box call. Moments after that I get a gobble. Wait about 10 minutes and call again. This time he cuts me off and is much closer. I set the call down and set up in anticipation. I can hear him coming up the Ridgeline and moments later the infamous red head pops up. The rest is history. Left thousands of dollars of equipment in the field and got it done just me a call my vest and 870. Love it! Good luck to all that are still at it.
