Lets see your turkey guns and bows

Unread postby hunter10 » Tue Apr 21, 2015 11:02 am

Anyone have tricked out turkey guns or bows?

Ive seen some pretty neat gun setups and would like to pick one up some day.

I shoot a Mathews Z7, beman arrows and slick trick 100g broadheads

Also a Stoeger M3500 semi 12 gauge synthetic, Heavy shot and tight wad choke

You?

My turkey gun is an 870 with a 21" barrel...undertaker hevishot tube..new this year is a knoxx adjustable stock and Williams slugger sights...

Gunna test the sights...might goto a holographic one day...I do use it predator calling too...

Probably going to carry my Winchester model 50 12gauge some this year...I've never killed a spring bird with it...30" full choked barrel throws an awesome pattern...it won't have any trouble...I've just never carried it...

this my go to gun jelly head smasher ....Mossberg 12 gauge model 835 turkey 3 1/2 inch mag. sporting a hevi-shot choke deadly out to 65 yards ;) I shoot a hevi-shot load brand name magnum blend 5,6,7 shot mixed together = devastating patterns at far ranges!

Image

Ive shot 12 + toms with this gun as the marks I started making when I was younger on the side of the barrel   thought it was cool to scratch a line in my barrel for every tom ive killed...I stopped scratching my barrel a few years ago and have killed at least 6-7 toms in the past 4-5 years to add on ......
Image

hevi-shot choke and a fiber optic I stuck in the hole when the sight broke off one season ...hasn't let me down yet and is dead on
Image

My back up gun ....Mossberg 535 ATS turkey 12 guage 3 1/2 inch mag

thumb hole stock with 4 dot recital flat shield optics

I shoot a extreme full choke with Winchester extended range #5s or #6 shot
bought this gun 3 summers ago and have killed 3 toms so far with it one of them a double bearder!

Bighunt, I really like your guns! ive been interested in the mossy ones you mentioned. what do you think of them and maybe a dumb question but ive never turkey hunting with a scoped gun mainly since i really dont want that scope eye but many people have scoped turkey guns... if the scope eye that common with all that kick??

personally I love the Mossberg shotguns....I've also got a youth model 20 gauge Remington 870 Express I use that for years before I got big enough to shoot a 12 gauge lol ......the particular scope on my one shot gun isn't really a scope it's more of a flat shield 4 dot reticle ,there's really no way to get scoped by that thing and if you do there's something wrong  you would have very very close for That to happen

the main reason why I got that flat tactical red dot in the first place is so I don't get Scoped eyed .....another good benefit of that tactical red dot is you can have both eyes open when aiming! and even if your heads a little bit to the left or to right up down..we're ever that red dot is that's where your shots going

Picked up a youth 20 ga for my nephew to use this year. Mossberg 500c 20 ga, holographic site, factory xfull choke. Is a 30 yard max gun with current set up. WIll be looking at a different choke and federal heavy 7's for next year, but it is a nice youth gun in its current set up. Not too tight of a pattern and that is how I want it to stay for now
